Design of Steel and Reinforced Concrete Structures
Credit: 4 hours.
Loads and load combinations; design methods/structural safety; steel as a structural material; design of structural steel members subject to tension, compression, bending, shear, and combined forces as well as bolted and welded joints. Reinforced concrete as a structural material; transformed sections; design for bending, shear, and serviceability; design of one-way slabs and columns.
4 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Credit is not given for both ARCH 433 and ARCH 451; credit is not given for both ARCH 433 and ARCH 452. Prerequisite: ARCH 232.
