Open to sophomores, juniors and seniors. Meets with INFO 390CC. Description: Explores cultural ideas about computers, including hopes and fears about the effects of computers on our lives. Will analyze images of computers in fiction and movies. The course will also examine hackers, online subcultures, and other computer-related subcultures, and the integration of computers into various cultural practices.Meets with INFO 390CC.

Hip Hop Informatics
Section Info:
Do you like to make things? Dance? DJ? Market your ideas? Tell stories? This class will examine various aspects of Hip Hop (entrepreneurship, information transfer, spoken word, dance, graffiti, sound arts) in relation to digital sharing and virtual spaces. There will be chances to connect with the Champaign-Urbana Community Fab Lab, the MIT Media Lab and Scratch programming, a UI Dance class, local businesses, and community youth clubs, and more. It will be engaged learning with all your senses, in collaboration! This class meets at the FabLab Art Annex2, 1301 S Goodwin Ave, Urbana cucfablab.org
