Directed and supervised investigation of selected topics in information studies that may include among others computers and culture; information policy; community information systems; production, retrieval and evaluation of scientific or social science knowledge; computer-mediated communication; and computer-supported cooperative work.

This class will examine various aspects of Hip Hop (entrepreneurship, information transfer, spoken word, dance, graffiti, sound arts) in relation to digital sharing and virtual spaces. There will be chances to connect with the Champaign-Urbana Community Fab Lab, the MIT Media Lab and Scratch programming, a UI Dance class, local businesses, and community youth clubs, and more.
