Spring 2017 FR 573 Critique et sentiment au XVIIIe siècle. Study of two key and complementary concepts in 18th-century French philosophy and literature. May include texts by such authors as Marivaux, Montesquieu, Graffigny, Diderot, Rousseau, Laclos, Mercier, Charrière, as well as extracts of texts written during the Revolution. Course taught in French. Theoretical readings in French and in English.
