Graduate Seminar in Band Conducting, History, and Literature

Credit: 2 hours.

This seminar will explore current topics facing the contemporary wind band conductor. Subject matter will include but not be limited to the exploration of new literature, works for chamber winds, and an historical survey of cornerstone repertoire. There will also be a conducting component, using a chamber ensemble.

2 graduate hours. No professional credit. May be repeated to a maximum of 8 hours in separate terms, if topics vary. Prerequisite: Graduate Band Conducting Majors and Admitted Cognate Program Members Only, or with Instructor permission.
