Advanced study of physical nature of sound and its measurement; theory and practice of psychophysics, including the various aspects of psychoacoustics (sensitivity, masking, loudness, pitch, binaural hearing, speech perception) and the nonlinear nature of the auditory system.
Prerequisite: SHS 240 or equivalent.
