Examination of computational aspects of biology with an emphasis on the relationships between biological questions and their recastings as mathematical or logical problems. Topics are drawn from biochemistry, genetics, molecular sequence analysis, and molecular structure.
3 undergraduate hours. 3 graduate hours. Prerequisite: MCB 250, MCB 252, MCB 354, and calculus (one of MATH 220, MATH 221, MATH 231, MATH 234); or consent of instructor.
