Addresses basic issues in cognitive development, with special attention to how social interactions impact cognitive development. Two major foci: theories, especially in terms of the role that socialization plays in these theories; and effects of domains of socialization (e.g., peers, school) on cognitive development. Primary age span: preschool thru adolescence.

Prerequisite: Consent of instructor.
