Understanding the strategies and application of digital technology in the implementation of advertising in today's marketplace. Students must have completed ADV 300 before enrolling in this course. Meets with ADV 590-F (CRN 45526). NOTE: If students have completed ADV 400-F (CRN45522) in any spring term or ADV 400-F (CRN 56068) in any fall term, you will not be able to take this course.

Media Entrepreneurship

** Note: Course will open to sophomores in Advertising and Agricultural Communications by 8:30 am on November 9th. This course introduces students to the foundations of entrepreneurship and evolving business models for media. The course will be divided into three sections. In the first section, students are introduced to the foundation and context of entrepreneurship. The second section will cover the skills and practices necessary for new entrepreneurial ventures, as well as the processes of evaluating an idea, assessing the market, and implementing a new venture. In the third section, students will examine business case studies for both successful and unsuccessful media start-ups.

Using Tech to Solve Adv Probs
Section Info:
Meets with CS 498-ADV (CRN 59208) This project-based course will allow teams of media and computer science students to use technology platforms to solve problems supplied by industry clients. Each student will bring their expertise to the problem at hand. Media students will learn capabilities and limitations of different technology platforms will learn how the end user will be impacted by technology decisions, and how they can help achieve advertising objectives with their code design. Junior or Senior standing. Course will open to sophomores in Advertising and Agricultural Communications by 8:30 am on November 9th.
