This course meets on Wednesdays, Jan 18 - Mar 7, 2012 from 1 - 2:50pm. Do you know Facebook has more female users than males? Do you know Justin Bieber has more than 5.3 million followers on Twitter? Do you know YouTube has more than 2 billion views per day around the world? Do you know Wikipedia now hosts 13 million co-edited articles in more than 200 languages? Do you know someone who no longer purchases music? Do you know on average an American teen sends out 2,272 text messages a month? Do you know there are more than 250,000 applications available for download in the Apple Apps Store? Chances are you probably are already aware of those numbers since you use similar Web 2.0 technologies everyday to share and to connect, and you are in the middle of all these exciting participatory Web applications that are changing the way we live and the future that is not too far away. But do you know how you can take advantages of all those Web 2.0 technologies to help you learn more efficiently and effectively for the rest of your college career? This course is designed to do just that. In 8 weeks this course will guide you through an informative and reflective journey, to identify how you can learn most efficiently and meaningfully with the help of Web 2.0 technologies. At the end of the course you will be able to customize your own personal Web 2.0 Learning Technology Tool Kit that you can apply to a variety of learning tasks in the future.
