This course will teach students what goes on "behind the scenes" during a half-hour live local television newscast. Students will learn the theory behind, and receive hands-on instruction, operating a studio camera, lighting a television set, running a control room video switcher and audio board, and incorporating graphics and multiple playback sources into a broadcast. Once they master the fundamentals, students will serve as the production crew for UI-7 NEWS, a twice-weekly student-produced newscast of the Department of Journalism.
