Care and management of companion animals, emphasizing the dog and cat. Subject matter includes such topics as domestication and development of breeds, reproduction and genetics, principles of behavior and training, major infectious diseases, and nutrition and feeding management. Intended for students interested in professional careers with companion animals.

Prerequisite: Sophomore standing; ANSC 100 or IB 104 or equivalent.
