Topic: "INTRODUCTION TO WORLD MUSIC." This course surveys the fascinating histories and sounds of six different commercially recorded popular songs from around the world. Each song has an interesting story about our world's interconnectedness and the broader recording industry. Through this course, you will also learn about bigger topics pertaining to music, including state politics, appropriation and copyright law, power, the influence of media, and much more. Meets Summer 2A.
