Introduces advanced undergraduate and graduate students to essential design research methods, blending qualitative and quantitative approaches within human-centered design frameworks. Students learn to frame complex problems, conduct primary and secondary research, synthesize data, and translate findings into actionable design opportunities. Emphasizing ethics, reflexivity, and cultural awareness, the course prepares students to create impactful research portfolios for advanced studio work, thesis research, and professional design practice.
3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: Restricted to Senior, Graduate standing or consent of instructor required.
