The Science of Youth Violence Prevention
Credit: 3 hours.
Introduction to the scientific research and practices of preventing youth violence. Topics include conceptual and theoretical models of violence, principles of prevention science and evaluation methods, and the assessments, data, programs, and research across forms of youth violence (bullying, dating violence/intimate partner violence, sexual violence, community violence). Students will learn how to critically evaluate research and evidence-based practices to assess the development and impact of violence prevention efforts.
Prerequisite: Any Quantitative Reasoning I course.
