LAW 307
Spring 2026 All Classes
Credit: 3 hours.
Literary and cultural texts will offer students context for understanding how legal systems differ from one another and over time, revealing how moral, ethical and political realities reflected in literature motivate and illuminate the law, as well as issues arising from its application, the role of lawyers in society, and major legal doctrines spanning both criminal and civil law. Students will read and respond primarily to literary texts, supplemented by legal documents and abridged passages from interdisciplinary scholarship.
