Provides the fundamentals of quantitative analysis and research design. Topics include formal frameworks for causal inference, matching methods, the logic of experimental design, and basics of quasi-experimental methods including regression discontinuity and difference-in-differences. This is the third in a three-course sequence integrating quantitative research methods and data wrangling to provide tight vertical alignment supporting the development of skills necessary for dissertation research aligned with disciplinary traditions in education policy.
4 graduate hours. No professional credit. Prerequisite: ERAM 566. Restricted to EPOL students, or with approval of instructor and advisor.
