- This course will train students how to identify, find, read, and analyze primary and secondary legal sources. Students will learn to properly cite statutes, case law, and secondary sources including legal commentaries and academic works. Students will complete small tasks including case briefs, legal briefs, and exercises in finding sources and correcting citations. This course will culminate in a final research project.

- Section Info:
- This course will explore important issues in the American legal system, both in the state and federal courts, through current cases. Examples of such issues include limits on presidential power, regulations of artificial intelligence, privacy considerations, and regulations of speech and the internet. This course will explore why these issues are important through the lens of legal traditions, what they may mean for development of the law, and trace how they will advance through the legal system.
