Credit: 5 hours.
This supervised clinical internship meets the objectives of the Association of Child Life Professional Competencies and addresses all the skills defined by the Child Life Certification Commission Exam Content Outline. Students will complete reading and writing assignments and meet weekly with the instructor for group supervision. The remaining hours will be held in community agencies as scheduled by the instructor.
This course is repeated up to four times to meet the 600-hour clinical internship requirement for the CCLS exam and certification. Students will be in a cohort and their repeated internship courses will build upon the previous term's content. Students must take this course three times for 5 credits each time, for a total of 15 credits in separate terms to meet their 600 hour internship requirement. Prerequisite: HDFS 408 or equivalent course. Restricted to students enrolled in the joint program of the Bachelor and Masters in Child Health as well as the Masters in Child Health.
