Introduces new doctoral students in EPOL to the variety of educational research traditions in order to foster reflective inquiry and critical research literacy.

Prerequisite: Admission to a doctorate program in EPOL.

The goal of this course is to facilitate your development as critical scholars through rigorous investigation of education research; to develop an awareness of the process of earning a doctorate in Education at Illinois; to enhance foundational reading, writing, and research skills; and to raise an understanding of the roles and responsibilities you have as researching practitioners.
