Tree Rings and Climate
Section Info:
This class is an introduction to dendrochonology with a focus on dendroclimatology. We will learn how to collect and process tree ring samples with hands-on lab practice. The course will then cover how to interpret tree ring data, and statistical methods for climate reconstructions from tree rings. Finally, we will cover some applications of tree-ring-based reconstructions in climate studies, water resources, and forest management. 3 credit hours. Standard letter graded.
