Planets & Moons in Solar Systm
Section Info:
This class aims to give students a broad overview of the planets and moons in our solar system. From terrestrial planets to gas giants and the moons that orbit them, we will explore the building blocks of these worlds and the geological processes that shape them. Specific topics will include the formation and evolution of our solar system, planetary interiors, surface geology, atmospheres, and planetary habitability. We will also survey the tools that scientists use to probe the workings of planets and moons. Particular attention will be given planetary exploration missions, both past and present. Additionally, we will discuss some of the most important questions in planetary science that is driving future research, and how we might answer them. Standard letter graded.
