Credit: 3 OR 4 hours.

Provides semester-long, in-depth explorations of single time arts topics. Using the ideas and basic tools from Time Arts I, students will study the advanced concepts and techniques particular to individual time arts genres while producing their own work.

Additional fees may apply. See Class Schedule. 3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. May be repeated in separate terms to a maximum of 6 undergraduate or 8 graduate hours. Prerequisite: ARTS 243 or consent of instructor.

A student registered in one or more Art & Design course(s) exhibiting this message, will be assessed a $95 facility use fee once each term.

Topic: Crip* Temporalities--in/around Video, Performance, and Research Methodologies. This course will focus on creative writing, video art, poetry, and language, with the goal of developing poetic and experimental narratives and environments that transform our relationship with space and our experience of time. Students will engage with a variety of materials, including films, texts, and site visits. They will participate in exercises that draw from a wide range of contemporary art forms, including video art, performance, visual poetry, film essays, and other discursive and practice-based approaches. Some seats are reserved for specific Art & Design majors. If you receive a "reserve closed" error, all seats for your major are filled, check back on July 18. Any available seats left on July 18 will be made available to all A&D majors and minors. This course will have a hybrid online/in-person meeting.
