Credit: 3 OR 4 hours.

The objective of this course is to gain a better understanding of the endocrine system and its response to physical exercise. Therefore, this course will provide a basic review of 1) the major glands and tissues that secrete chemical messengers, 2) the ability of acute exercise and exercise training to regulate chemical messengers, and 3) the physiological consequences of endocrine adaptation to exercise. Clinical disorders associated with endocrine dysfunction will also be discussed when relevant.

3 undergraduate hours. 3 or 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: KIN 352.
