Critical Info Studies Seminar
Section Info:
Doctoral seminar. Open to MS students with permission of instructor, email Karen Wickett at wickett2@illinois.edu for approval. In this seminar, students will engage with the major debates around power, information technology, and society. Core topics include definitions and concepts of critical information studies, methods of critical inquiry, and origins of critical theory. Students will learn about critical information studies through applications of critical race theory, ethnic studies, indigenous knowledge and decolonial theory, queer theory, and feminist theory. Specific topics vary by instructor.
