An umbrella course for elective dancing techniques offered for dance majors. Courses are offered from a range of cultural origins and traditions, which may include techniques such as Ballet, Capoeira, Contemporary Modern, Hip Hop, House, Improvisation, Jazz, Tap, Umfundalai, West African, etc. Specific dance forms for each semester will be listed in the class schedule. These courses provide dance majors with a physical experience of various dance techniques and the cultural context of their creation and practice.

May be repeated. Prerequisite: For Dance majors only or consent of instructor. Non-dance majors admitted by audition on a space-available basis.

Salsa ON 2: New York Style Salsa and other Latin Dance Forms. Introduction and exploration of Social Dances focusing on Salsa on 2 and other Latin Dance practices. Students will investigate the physical skills, rhythm & counting, and historical concepts by gaining basic knowledge about salsa music and structure.
