Designed to introduce individuals to the Video Game Industry, its history, current status, processes and future. It includes a survey of the positions and information about how to prepare to enter the Industry.

In "Introduction to the Videogame Industry," beginner-level students will explore the multifaceted world of video games, starting with a historical overview of the industry’s evolution from its early days to the present. Topics will include key milestones in game development, the impact of technological advancements, and the rise of major game genres. Students will learn about the different roles within the industry, such as game designers, developers, artists, and producers, and how they collaborate to create a game. The course will also cover the business aspects of the industry, including game publishing, marketing, and the economic impact of video games globally. Additionally, discussions will touch on current trends and challenges in the industry, such as the rise of mobile gaming, virtual reality, and eSports. By the end of the course, students will have a foundational understanding of how the video game industry operates and the various career opportunities it offers.
