Students will be exposed to the outpatient management of common cardiovascular disorders including coronary artery disease, hypertension, valvular heart disease, heart failure, and atrial fibrillation. Additionally, the work-up of common referrals in an ambulatory setting such as chest pain, shortness of breath, edema, palpitations, coronary calcification, syncope, abnormal ECG, and preoperative risk assessment can be expected.
No graduate credit. 2 professional hours. Approved for S/U grading only. May be repeated in separate semesters to a maximum of 4 credit hours. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Phase 1 of the Carle Illinois College of Medicine curriculum.
