Daniel St. An exploration of fundamental elements of music using basic logical and mathematical concepts: from the internal structure of sounds to methods of organizing them into complex compositions. Illustrated with examples dating from centuries ago to the present use of computers in music, all notions and supporting materials will be presented without assuming any previous knowledge in either area. 3 Undergraduate hours. Graduate students need to register for CRN 69282. This class was previously taught as MUS 424. Credit will not be given for both this course and MUS 424. Restriction(s): Not intended for students with Freshman class standing. Restricted to Undergrad - Urbana-Champaign.
