Supporting Inclusive Computing
Section Info:
The goal of this virtual seminar is to prepare graduate students and postdoctoral scholars to support Broadening Participation in Computing (BPC) through their contributions to academic spaces in their current roles and as prospective faculty. Participants will cultivate a deeper understanding of the social and structural forces that shape broadening participation efforts and support or hinder diversity, equity, and inclusion in computing. We will examine current efforts to support BPC, including individual and organizational roles in cultivating inclusive educational spaces, as well as discussing inclusive mentoring and advising practices. Those interested in exploring or preparing for a faculty career are encouraged to enroll.
