Section Info: Topic: Portraiture and Representation. Through a historical and theoretical lens, this course will allow students to explore portraiture and the idea of representation. The topics of race, gender, and sexuality will be addressed. We will study approaches to art photography, including tableaux, appropriation, and abstraction. We will also explore how contemporary photographers have worked to challenge, expand and reinvent portraiture. Seats are reserved for specific A&D majors and A&D minors. If you receive a "reserve closed" error, all seats for your major are filled, check back on December 1. Any available seats left on December 1 will be made available to all A&D majors and minors.
