Students interested in learning more about audio journalism are invited to be part of the working Illinois Public Media newsroom on the U of I campus. Students in this section will learn basic audio writing and broadcasting from a professor, peer mentors in the IPM Student Newsroom and professional journalists at WILL-AM, WILL-FM and IllinoisNewsroom.org. This is a working newsroom environment in which students learn to produce professional-quality audio news stories. Enrollment is by instructor approval. Students interested in this course should reach out to Professor Evans, at cre@illinois.edu. Students will choose to pursue 1-4 credit hours based on the rubric that a minimum of forty-five hours of production activity must be completed over the course of the semester for each credit hour.
