Building upon this framework, learn about market efficiency and behavioral finance as common behavioral biases of investors are introduced. Incorporating process methods of the private equity model, we will review direct investment strategies and consider various ways to leverage capital markets as part of mission-driven efforts. If you haven’t taken that class but have some options knowledge through experience or via the Market Information Lab Options bootcamp, you can still be successful in this class. We will start slowly by discussing some simple trading strategies that are used by institutional and retail accounts alike. We will move from there to discuss volatility trading looking not only at the CBOE VIX product but also at OTC variance swaps. Finally, by the end of the semester, we will be discussing the most topical options and derivatives structures such as risk parity, risk premia capture, alternative risk premia and volatility targeting.
