Advanced Topics in Wealth Mgt
Section Info:
Advanced Topics in Wealth Management explores advanced topics and ‘best practices’ in the proper administration of wealth. It considers issues and opportunities presented to individuals as they approach ‘high net worth’ status. In addition to strategic use of life insurance, we’ll discuss the transfer tax system as a driver of strategic wealth planning. Budding entrepreneurs will find our work with business succession planning and legacy planning to be invaluable. Asset protection and charitable planning are other key topics addressed. Through a combination of lecture, active classroom discussion, and group exercises, we will focus on the practical application of these concepts and consider what it means to create and sustain generational wealth.

Social Impact Investing
Section Info:
Social impact investing may be described as a bridge between two well-established disciplines, private equity and philanthropy. Like philanthropy, impact investing is driven by an intention to create a positive societal or environmental change in its investment sphere. Incorporating process methods of the private equity model, we will review direct investment strategies and consider various ways to leverage capital markets as part of mission-driven efforts. This course considers the perspective of both investor and manager/entrepreneur in seeking paths for solving intractable societal problems while generating financial return.
