SHOW FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE

Credit: 3 OR 4 hours.

Advanced level readings in classical Latin literature.

3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. May be repeated for a total of 6 undergraduate hours or 8 graduate hours in separate semesters, if topics vary. Prerequisite: LAT 202 or four years of high school Latin.

In this class we will read the entirety of book 4, which begins with instructions on the keeping of bees before ultimately digressing into the famous recounting of the mythological tale of Orpheus and Eurydice. Attention will be paid to reading Vergil’s Latin with pleasure and understanding. Selections from earlier books of the poem will also be read. Restriction(s): Restricted to Graduate - Urbana-Champaign.
