Section Title:
Representing the Holocaust
Section Info:
The Holocaust in Context treats literary and filmic representations of the Holocaust. While a single course cannot do justice to this complex topic, we read four novels and screen five films concerning cultural representations of victims and perpetrators, and Holocaust denial and documentation. Please note that you are required to read regularly and to attend screenings. Attendance at all class sessions, including all film screenings, is mandatory. Class discussion is important to our study. Class consists of screenings, daily discussions, formal weekly online responses, and two exams.
