This course explores aspects of women’s lives and feminist empowerment in France after 1950 through their representation in literature, film, and other forms of cultural production. Introduction to various topics, moments, and trends in feminism in France, such as the Mouvement de Libération des Femmes, « French Feminism », afrofeminism and movements for intersectional justice, #metoo, the return of the witches and ecofeminism.
