Virtual Study Abroad, instructor Georgia Sermamoglou-Soulmaidi. This course introduces students to the city of Athens and its monuments through virtual visits to major archaeological sites and museums, studying the modern city and exploring the ways in which it engages with its ancient past. Mix of synchronous and asynchronous instruction.

Animals in Literature
Section Info:
A selection of literary texts from Greece. Rome and the subsequent Western tradition in which animals are protagonists or narrators. Readings from Plutarch, Ovid, Apuleius; Anna Sewell's Black Beauty; Jack London's Call of the Wild. We conclude by looking beyond the Western tradition to Native American texts, including Louise Erdrich's The Antelope Wife. Mix of asynchronous and synchronous meetings.
