In all cases, you will be expected to use a human-centered design approach through research, user involvement, ideation, prototyping and communication. This section meets mostly online, but may have occasional in-person meetings. You will be charged an Art + Design Facilities Fee which will grant you access to the Art + Design Facilities. Theme: UX design for Small Appliances. Appliances are products that we use every day and, typically, last 10 years. Because of fact that we use every day more than 10 years, aesthetic must be balanced with environment and interface should be logical from users’ perspective. UX becomes more powerful and meaningful when it is well balanced with physical and tangible products. To do so, Interface design for appliances focuses on “workflow” and includes not only physical buttons but also contents for touch screen. This course will focus on UX and explore aesthetic for products that will embrace UX. This section meets mostly online, but may have occasional in-person meetings. You will be charged an Art + Design Facilities Fee which will grant you access to the Art + Design Facilities. Hybrid (in-person + online).
