Design Thinking Seminar
Section Info:
Topic: Design Thinking for a Campus Space (Part 1). This course will use the human-centered design research process to inspire the development of a new space on the University of Illinois campus which will celebrate the 100th year of the Illini Dads Association. The Illini Dads Centennial Plaza will honor the role and impact that Dads, and father figures, have in the lives of their Illini students. In order to better understand what father figures mean to our Illini stakeholders, students will engage in an empathy-building research process, to inspire the insights, design principles, and early ideas for a meaningful, engaging, and iconic location on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus. Members of the Illini Dads Association will act as the project client, providing feedback and guidance throughout the the first 8 weeks of the semester. A second session of the course will be hosted that focuses on bringing opportunities identified through the design development phase. Students are encouraged but not required to take both parts of Design Thinking for a Campus Space - either session may be taken independently. Undergraduate Section.
Restriction(s):
Restricted to Undergrad - Urbana-Champaign.
