Section Info:
Building sustainable communities and ecosystems requires an understanding of how and why people value nature. This course will therefore explore a range of reasons why people make behavioral decisions about the environment. Students will develop theoretical knowledge that teaches reasoning skills and apply that knowledge to help solve natural resource management problems encompassing the topics of water, wildlife, and climate change. This class is open to students who are broadly interested in the environmental social sciences, including disciplines such as natural resources and environmental sciences, psychology, sociology, landscape and urban planning, economics, political science, and geography.
