Building sustainable communities and ecosystems requires an understanding of how and why people make decisions about the environment. This course will explore how values, attitudes, and concepts of place relate to environmental behavior. Students will transfer theoretical knowledge of behavior change science and state-of-the art methodologies to resource management challenges, focusing particular attention on the human dimensions of fisheries management and conservation in parks and protected areas.
3 undergraduate hours. 3 graduate hours. Prerequisite: NRES 287.
