The study of music written for and performed by brass ensembles with generally one player on each part. The repertoire includes original compositions as well as arrangements of music from different styles and genres written specifically for brass. Ensemble size is flexible, ranging from trios and quartets, to ensembles of 30 or more musicians.
1 undergraduate hour. 1 graduate hour. May be repeated in separate semesters to a maximum of 16 undergraduate hours or 12 graduate hours. Prerequisite: Audition required or consent of instructor.
