The Concerto Urbano Baroque ensemble is dedicated to the performance of early music on period instruments from the University of Illinois’s instrument collection. Students explore historical playing and singing styles in repertoire from the late Renaissance, Baroque and early Classical periods. The ensemble also collaborates with the opera and dance departments in fully staged productions of Baroque operas.

1 undergraduate hour. 1 graduate hour. May be repeated. Prerequisite: Audition and/or consent of instructor.
