Section Title:
Water Cycle Resrch Experience
Section Info:
Course description:This course surveys the use of stable isotope ratios as tracers of the global water cycle. Topics will include, but not be limited to, stable isotopes as water mass tracers in the ocean, indicators of large-scale evaporation and precipitation patterns, groundwater sources, precipitation processes, and large-scale atmospheric circulation. We will also learn about how stable water isotopes reveal past climate change. In this research-focused course, students will learn about these topics as they analyze real stable isotope data, culminating in a research manuscript written by the class.
