Credit: 3 hours.

Examines water quality in streams, rivers, lakes, and wetlands. The responses of watershed systems to pollution and other human impacts will be described in terms of their biological, geochemical, and physical processes. The technical analyses necessary to establish policies aimed at preserving or restoring these natural resources will be emphasized.

3 undergraduate hours. 3 graduate hours. Prerequisite: One of CEE 330, CHEM 232, NRES 351; one of MATH 220, MATH 221, MATH 234.

This section will have distributed classroom attendance with supplemental instruction. You will receive an email from our department with specific attendance directives. NRES 403 section A will combine online lectures and computer lab sessions. All lectures will be recorded, so students can listen at their convenience. For labs, students are encouraged to use the workstations in M205 Turner Hall via VPN or in person, as long as the University allows in person class meetings. Dr. Hudson will generally be present for labs virtually, rather than in person. Students unable to enroll due to caps are encouraged to enroll in section XM1 and participate at their preferred time via Zoom.
