Assessment and Evaluation in Music Education

Credit: 3 OR 4 hours.

Overview of assessment and evaluation techniques in music education, emphasizing the design of performance assessments, how to collect quality data in the music classroom, and how to use data to improve instruction. Five weeks devoted to context-exploring basic statistical techniques, including how to interpret data.

3 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: MUS 240, MUS 342, MUS 343; or grad standing; or consent of instructor.
