Credit: 3 hours.

Designed to provide elementary education majors with a philosophical and practical basis for integrating the arts [including visual art, music, & dance] in public schools. Lecture, discussion, arts practices and class activities will focus on the ever expanding role of the arts in children's lives and the role of the teacher in nurturing artistic expressions through the development of skills, processes, and the various knowledges of the multi-modalities of the arts.

All Junior Elementary students will meet together in room 66 Library from 4:00 PM-6:50 PM on the first day of class, Thursday, 1/17/19. Students will be assigned to 3 different sections that will subsequently meet in other locations. The Dance section meeting in 1ARCH ARR will meet in the Temple Buell Architecture Gallery located in the Architecture Building.
