Section Info:
Students will gain hands-on experience analyzing policy and design of pedestrian and transit access in suburban settings. Course activities include an audit of pedestrian facilities, in-depth review of transportation policies, and demographic and spatial analysis of transit riders and neighborhoods. Students will prepare a professional report and present their findings to a public transit operator and municipal officials. Field visits to suburban Chicago will be required.
