This multidisciplinary course uses two national parks to provide a window into issues concerning humans and the environment. We will include material from the three major divisions of the College of Liberal Arts and Science, the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities in several pre-departure class meetings as well as on site in Mammoth Cave National Park and Great Smoky Mountain National Park during spring break (March 19-25, 2017). This section is restricted to LAS James Scholars. Meeting times will be arranged. An additional fee of $100 will be added for this course.
