Examination and critical evaluation of selected methods/approaches of intervention; research on their effectiveness and application to specific problems of children and adolescents that come to the attention of social workers and other helping professionals; attention given to remediation and prevention. The course provides opportunities for students to develop skills through participation in a service learning project.

Prerequisite: SOCW 400.
